On the outside, Tony and Elizabeth Jordan are they typical American family.  He is a successful pharmaceutical representative and she is is a successful real estate agent with a beautiful daughter, Danielle.  However, when Elizabeth meets with a potential client, Clara Williams, the facade of her life and marriage are quickly removed.  Clara can see herself in Elizabeth’s troubles and being wiser, Clara knows that Tony is not the only reason his marriage with Elizabeth is falling apart.  Clara, the widow of a war strategist, knows that is not who you fight … its how you fight that wins wars.  Clara encourages Elizabeth to meet with her 1 hour a week to discuss her marriage.  Also, Clara ask Elizabeth to create a room in her home like she has created … a War Room.  In this room, she will fight the true entity that is causing her marriage to fall apart … the devil.

This should not be seen as an “Urban Movie” or just another “Christian Movie”, it is a good movie that truly deals with redemption, responsibility, and grace. You will cheer, laugh, cry, and pray throughout this movie.  It is amazingly acted and easily navigates around having a message without alienating or belittling its audience.  War Room does not pass judgement on the husband or the wife by choosing sides.  Both parties must work together to build their marriage, their relationship with the daughter, and, most importantly, their relationship with God.  You don’t feel like you have been beat over the head with religion because you can see yourself, spouse, children, and grandparents in these characters.  You will be encouraged to make a War Room in your home.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars
