Custody – Review
Custody – Lifetime – 2 hours and 33 minutes
After coming home from a double shift, Sarah finds her son, David, at a party with kids she believes are a bad influence. She brings her son home and smacks him on the head. He trips and falls on to the glass coffee table. He receives a small cut above his eye and bruises. The next day, David’s teacher sees his bruise and reports it to the nurse, who call social services. By the end of the day, Sarah’s kids (David and her daughter Tia) are taken by ACS and she doesn’t see them for 2 days. From that point on this story focuses on three people:
- Martha: the judge, in the middle of a separation, recent empty nester
- Alexandra: a new attorney, Yale graduate, and molestation victim
- Sarah: mother of 2, low wage worker, rough past
As missteps, lies, and frustrations play out in the court room, there is only one question: Will Sarah get her children back?
This story is hard to watch but necessary. It’s easy for the viewer to side with Sarah. This is why the story of a 5 year old girl, starved to death, just months after she is returned to a mother with a past addiction, is played over and over in the background. The viewer is reminded that not all cases are like Sarah’s but they need to be treated seriously. This movie also displays overworked court appointed attorneys and understaffed child services providers. Then by getting a glimpse into each woman’s life, you don’t see an up-tight women looking down on a poor woman. You see 3 women all with problems beyond their gender, ethnicity, and income. If you watch this, watch it with an open-mind and a open heart. It deserves your full attention, so DVR and get your wine.

Nanny Seduction – Review
Nanny Seduction – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes
Kara and Ben are attempting to rebuild their marriage after Ben’s affair. Not just for themselves but for Riley, their 8 year old daughter. Six months ago, Ben and Kara adopted Riley to save her from an alcoholic mother. As previously believed, Riley is slowly adjusting, but things change when their nanny, Mrs. Gregory leaves to take care of her grandchild. Ben and Kara have to do a quick nanny search to replace her. The first nanny, Kelcie, is quickly fired after her negligence leaves Ben and Kara without a stove. The second nanny, Alyssa, seems like a dream come true. But with strange phone calls, Vanessa (Riley’s birth mother) sneaking around their home, and Ben’s biggest secret plaguing their lives, Ben and Kara are ill prepared for one event … Riley has disappeared.
This is fun to watch because of all the “shade” and back handed comments being made. It’s easy to laugh at the clueless parents when this happens. Even though this movie starts as a mystery, the kidnapper is given to you on a sliver platter. That’s when the movie changes from a mystery to a drama. This is a movie for the “when will they get it” watcher. If you love to watch a seductress slither through an unsuspecting home causing havoc, this is your movie. DVR to skip the commercials but don’t cancel your plans to watch.

Deadly Lessons – Review
Deadly Lessons – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes
After Lisa’s friends, Tiffany and Patrick, catch her affair with her ethics professor, Dr. Harris, he is given only two options: quit or be exposed. To save his reputation, he choses to quit. But Lisa, although not punished, decides to leave the school 2 semesters shy of graduation to be with Dr. Harris. Soon the couple is engaged and living together. And as the old saying goes, ‘You don’t know a person until you live with them’ rings frighteningly true. As Lisa lives with him she discovers 2 ex wives, a volatile temper, and a missing best friend.
This doesn’t feel like a movie … more like a PSA on domestic violence. It does provide a bit of a mystery into Dr. Harris’s past but nothing new. This movie have been done before so experienced Lifetimers will be bored. This is a background noise movie with weird angles and unnecessary close-ups. It can be skipped.

Horrible movie bad story line bad acting. This will probably be my last Liferime movie because of how bad it was
